The winning innovation demonstrates creativity, scalability, and potential to reduce barriers to healthcare, particularly in resource-limited settings.
Who is eligible:
- Innovators, startups, social enterprises, NGOs or institutions that have developed tools, devices, apps, training materials, or community-driven models that make self-care practical and effective.
What nominators should consider:
- Originality and creativity of the innovation, and how it solves a critical health challenge.
- Accessibility and affordability for Ugandans, especially vulnerable communities.
- Evidence of uptake, usability, and demonstrated outcomes (e.g., improved health literacy, fewer hospital visits, better chronic disease management).
- Potential for scale and sustainability within Uganda and beyond.
