Eligibility
The Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) Regional Award celebrates the growing cadre of trained and formally deployed CHEWs who are redefining community-level care delivery in Uganda. This award recognizes individuals who embody professionalism, community trust, and impact in advancing integrated primary healthcare at the grassroots.
Who Should Be Nominated:
CHEWs from each region (North, East, West, South, and Central) who demonstrate:
- Exceptional delivery of community-level health services
- Strong data reporting, referrals, and follow-up systems
- Effective linkage between communities and health facilities
- Dedication to continuous learning and mentorship of VHTs
- Leadership in advancing self-care, immunization, and preventive health
- Positive impact on disease surveillance and health outcomes
