Eligibility and Criteria
The Village Health Teams (VHTs) Regional Award recognizes outstanding individuals serving within Uganda’s VHT program who have gone above and beyond to improve health outcomes in their communities. VHTs are the first point of contact between the health system and the community, playing a vital role in health promotion, disease prevention, referrals, and community mobilization.
Who Should Be Nominated:
Exceptional VHTs from each region (North, East, West, South, and Central) who demonstrate:
- Consistent community presence and commitment
- Leadership in health education and preventive care
- Strong collaboration with local health facilities
- Innovation in mobilizing communities for health interventions
- Outstanding performance in emergency or outbreak response
- Positive impact on maternal, child, and community health
